OUR STORY

POC Collaborative, nestled in the heart of North Omaha, exists to serve as a synergetic community and economic development hub that elevates BIPOC voices, sustains entrepreneurial innovation, activates community resources, and amplifies the legacy of the historic North Omaha community. The emerging space led by local, Katrina Adams, works in partnership with a board of community leaders equally committed to the growth and vitality of North Omaha.

OUR HISTORY

The 110-year-old building may have been designed as a church, but a new vision will foster a different type of fellowship.

Once known as the Church of Jesus Christ Whole Truth and, prior to, the Calvin Memorial/North Presbyterian Church now bears a new name and purpose for North Omaha community members.

The POC Collaborative Community Resource Center is a space for inclusive professional and entrepreneurial development, co-working and gathering, and strategic investment in emerging businesses.

POCC has four core areas of work:

  • Preserving and repurposing the historic CMPC building

  • Understanding and evolving Omaha’s entrepreneurship ecosystem to be more inclusive

  • Providing programs and services to for-profit and nonprofit businesses

  • Supporting both emerging and established community leaders

Our Why

Located in the historic heart of North Omaha, POC Collaborative’s Resource Center serves as an inclusive space for BIPOC professional and entrepreneurial development, a co-working and community gathering space, and a vehicle for strategic investment in emerging businesses.

Our organization is steered by an asset-based approach to community development, where we identify, organize, and deploy the resources already found in our community to mobilize individuals, associations, and institutions to come together around shared goals.

Our Mission

To serve as a community and economic development hub that elevates underrepresented voices, sustains entrepreneurial innovation, activates community resources, and amplifies the legacy of our community.

Our Vision

To increase the economic stability and upward mobility of BIPOC community members and business leaders in Omaha, Nebraska.
